Year 8 Camp
We have had an amazingly generous offer from Year 8 students at Brooklyn School in Wellington. They have heard how we have all been affected by the earthquake, how we are living in damaged homes, some still without water and power. They have also heard that we missed out on our Hanmer Camp.
After hearing about the devestation in Christchurch they have begun fundraising to bring Redcliffs School Year 8 students to Wellington. They are organising transport, accomodation (through billets) and activities for us to do while we are there. What an incredible thing for them to do for us. It is looking likely to be in the week of the 23rd to 27th May. A huge thank you to the students, teachers and community of Brooklyn School.

Hey Everyone,
ReplyDeleteIts Hans from the year 8 leadership team of Brooklyn School! We have been working hard fundraising and are extremely excited about your arrival.
Keep posting!
P.S: Love the pacman game on your page... :D
Hi my name is Alex and I am part of the year 8 Brooklyn School Leadership committee. Thank you for all your comments and we are really looking forward to having you guys stay with us too. Some of our fundraising ideas are to have a Christchurch go without for 30 hours like eat canned food for a weeekend, wear the same clothes, sleep in a tent, and drink boiled water.
ReplyDeleteAnother idea is a walk to school day, where you wear red and black and bring a gold coin donation. Some of the things we are organising for when you are over here are: go to te papa, go to Laserforce, and maybe even a social (dance), and heaps more!
thanks
Alex! =)=)=)
wats lazerforce ?
ReplyDeletehello I'm Alex mg from redcliffs school and I just want to say we the kids of redcliffs school thank u. I cant wait to be in Welington!! thanks u guys r epic just like mass effect 2 :):):):) and yes conner get a life
ReplyDeleteHey guyz, its Hans again.
ReplyDeleteYou asked 'wats lazerforce?' Well, its basically a place where you run around with laser guns and shoot each other. This is all in a maze, and if you're wondering, NO, it doesn't hurt. In fact, you can't feel anything because its just a light. Lol. The suit you're wearing detects this and your lights go out for a few seconds if you get hit. Its FUN. But paintballing is better. :)
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteSam Moulson - LOVE your comment, such a great guy! Me thinks Lazerforce is like Laserstrike down here.
Kids at Brooklands - THANKS A MILLION! You have really brightened the spirits of our kids and we cant wait to meet you! PS Tell Mr Breach I say HI!

Hey Georgia and Alex here,
ReplyDeleteAll is underway, and we can't wait till you arrive!!
:)
Hay guys its the social group, this is just a warning for the social, which is happening on the Thursday you guys are over! This is dance which means loud music, dancing and a real good time! The girls of our syndicate normally go way out (dress's, make-up and real fancy hair) however DON'T feel the pressure to go way out, as this is just a fun way to have fun dance and get to now each other a bit more!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
The social group :)
Sounds like heaps of fun but is one of those dances were u ask a girl to dance or just a crazy disco
ReplyDeleteConnor :D
Umm...Both Connor
ReplyDeleteDo you guys have anymore song request??
Laura and Solinda :)
Haha both Connor.
ReplyDeleteDo you guys have anymore song requests?
We've already got your songs you said you liked :)
Solinda
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe social is really fun, Connor it's kinda like a combination of the 2! Usually there is a cuple of slow dances, a couple of games and heaps of dancing! The little kids at our school have a less fancy disco, but we get 2 socials this year because you guys need one! Anyway, we're all really excited to meet you, redcliffs. Can't wait!
Tallulah
